Leadership Campbell County
Leadership Campbell County (LCC) is a nine-month leadership development program that identifies people of promise and familiarizes them with community issues and services as it enhances their leadership skills to prepare them for prominent business, cultural, and political roles. LCC is also a portion of our Tennessee Three-Star Program The program, sponsored by the Campbell County Chamber of Commerce, is informative, challenging and motivational. It provides comprehensive training through interaction with the communities top leadership while providing experiential learning opportunities and community service team projects. Previous class sessions have included: orientation, tourism/retirement, local government, health care/emergency, natural resources, education/media, business/industry, housing/law enforcement, state government/graduation. Participants must be committed to the program and be available one day per month during business hours. Tuition costs assist with the training sessions, shirts for new members, banquet costs and the overnight graduation trip to Nashville and can be paid by individuals or corporate sponsors. Each class is required to have a project. After graduation, alumni are encouraged to attend graduate school that is held annually to bring alumni up-to-date on new issues and/or projects that affect our county. Each year, two alumni are awarded scholarships to attend a regional leadership program. Leadership Campbell County now has 106 alumni and has recently selected participants for its 10th class. Information and applications for the program can be obtained at the Chamber of Commerce Office. Contact the office for more information. |
